Film noir film director Stanley Kubricks, who is currently working on a new adaptation of the Edgar Wright classic, Ammonium, will have a new film coming out in 2019, as he prepares to start work on his second solo film.
The film, titled Escape From New Manhattan, is currently in development at Warner Bros. and will star John Goodman and Elizabeth Olsen.
It is a collaboration between Kubricks and Goodman’s son, Anthony, and it is scheduled to be released in 2019.
The first film in the series, “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” which is currently under development, will be released this fall.
In addition to the two films, Kubricks is also set to direct a TV adaptation of Wright’s 1976 novel, The Man Who Stole the Sea, as well as his forthcoming live-action TV series “The Longest Journey.”
He recently won an Oscar for his work on the 2005 film The Longest Day.
