Posted February 24, 2019 12:38:54While the film franchise has seen some major changes over the years, fans of the classic sci-fi epic will probably remember the first Dune movie, Dune II: The Wrath of Khan.
As a teaser trailer showed, the sequel to the original film was set in the year 2166 and would see the story go in a different direction.
Now, fans can finally expect that movie to finally be released in 2019, which would make the sequel Dune 3: The Descent of Supremacy one of the most anticipated films of the year.
The film is expected to feature a large cast of new characters and a lot of action, and will likely be set in a post-apocalyptic world with a lot more conflict than in the original.
The movie has been in development for some time, but its release has been delayed due to the outbreak of the pandemic in the US.
But according to Deadline, the film’s producer, Jason Blum, has been keeping an eye on the Dune franchise and is hoping to bring a new installment to the big screen.
“We were trying to make Dune a little bit different and this is what we’re trying to do,” Blum said in a press conference, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“It’s not a big tentpole film.
It’s a little more epic.
It has the big action.
We’re going to do it in 2019.
I don’t think it’s going to happen any time soon, but we will do a little thing and hopefully it will come together in 2019.””

The new Dune film will be released on the 20th anniversary of the original Dune, which was released in 1991.
The film is also expected to be based on the novels of Neil Gaiman, who wrote the novels with artist John Jackson Miller.
